🔓 How to Unstake

Step-by-step Unstaking your SOL tokens from Birdeye Plus

Unstaking is the process of removing your delegation from the Birdeye Plus Validator. Once unstaked, your SOL tokens will no longer actively participate in securing the Solana network, and you will stop earning rewards.

Step 1: Initiate the Unstake Process

  • Navigate to the Unstake section.
  • Select the stake account you want to unstake and click on the Unstake button.

Step 2: Confirm the Unstaking Transaction

  • Confirm the transaction details through your wallet.

  • After confirming the transaction, the Unstaking process will be initiated to release your SOL tokens from the validator.

Step 3: Wait for the Deactivation Period

  • Unstaking on Solana involves a cooldown (deactivating) period of approximately 2 epochs (about 2–4 days depending on epoch length). During this time, your SOL will be in a "deactivating" state and cannot be used or transferred.

Step 4: Withdraw your SOL

  • After the cooldown period ends, your SOL will become "inactive" and can be withdrawn to your wallet balance.
  • To withdraw, locate your inactive stake, click on the Withdraw button, and confirm the withdrawal transaction.

Reactivating an Inactive Stake

If you’ve unstaked your SOL and it is now in an inactive state, you have the option to reactivate it without needing to withdraw it first. Reactivating your stake allows you to avoid the transfer process and quickly resume earning rewards.

  • Select the inactive stake account you want to reactivate and click on the Reactivate button.
  • Confirm the transaction details in your wallet and after the successful reactivation transaction, your Stake will start earning rewards again after completing the Activation period.
